The Democracy Commitment: The Old Seventh Ward Walking Tour of a Forgotten Community

Before the riots in July 1964, the old Seventh Ward was once a diverse emerging community home to immigrants and migrants attracted to the wealth and prosperity of Rochester, NY.

Join Verdis Robinson, National Director of The Democracy Commitment (TDC) and Public Scholar for New York Humanities (NYH), as he and local community college graduates lead a walking tour of the Upper Falls Community and discuss its historical transformation leading up to the 1964 Uprisings.

Please register for this community engagement opportunity early as space is limited. We will walk the block come rain or shine. Approx. walking distance= 1 mile. Details and instructions upon registration. August 11, 12, or 13 at 2 pm.
