CLOTHING URGENTLY NEEDED FOR NEW MONROE HIGH STUDENTS

**MONROE HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI AND NEIGHBORS**
ANNOUNCING NEIGHBORHOOD USED CLOTHING DRIVE NOW UNDERWAY

Monroe High School has received many children who were displaced by the hurricanes in the Caribbean. Many of them are coming to school wearing t-shirts and hoodies and sandals, even though there is snow on the ground.
Drop Off Site: Park Ave Pets 933 Monroe Avenue.

If you find that you’re cleaning out your closets and you have gently used clothing, coats, and other gear, in any sizes, the students could really use them and would be very appreciative.

Lisa Jacques, Owner of Park Ave Pets at 993 Monroe Avenue, has graciously offered to be a drop off site. DROP OFF GENTLY USED CLOTHING AND OUTERWEAR over the Next Two Weeks and we’ll get it all to those in need.

(CALL ASAP) Block Pharma Exec Alez Azar as HHS Secretary. The hearing is tomorrow (TUESDAY, Jan 9)!

CALL:
Senator Schumer: 585.263.5866/202.224.6542
Senator Gillibrand: 585.263.6250/202.224.4451

SCRIPT:

Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [Town/zip]
.
I’m calling to ask Senator [NAME] to oppose the nomination of Alex Azar for Secretary of Health and Human Services. Azar still profits from pharmaceuticals and his continued advocacy for the drug industry makes him a highly corrupt and appalling choice to lead the agency tasked with regulating it.

Thank you for your hard work answering the phones.

[IF SENATE]: I’m calling in support of S. 1689 Marijuana Justice Act of 2017. The government should be focused on fighting the opiate epidemic, not cracking down on legal marijuana businesses.

#ActionItem: Protect our coasts from offshore drilling.

CALL:
Your Rep: http://www.house.gov/representatives/find
Senator Schumer: 585.263.5866/202.224.6542
Senator Gillibrand: 585.263.6250/202.224.4451

SCRIPT:
Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a concerned constituent from [Town/Zip].

I’m calling to express my shock at Trump’s decision to open US coastal waters to offshore drilling. I ask Senator Charles E. Schumer to support [H.R. 2272 for House/S. 999 for Senate], the COAST Anti-Drilling Act, to protect our fragile coastal regions. Oil spills are inevitable and lead to grave economic and environmental consequences for our coastal communities.

Thank you for your time and attention.

Oppose SiriusXM Radio hiring Steve Bannon for Breitbart News Daily

WRITE: Scott Greenstein, President, ℅ SiriusXM, 1221 Avenue of the Americas, NY, NY 10020

SCRIPT: I am writing to oppose the “Patriot Channel’s” recent addition of Steve Bannon as host of several daily and weekend programs. Bannon isn’t a patriot, and Breitbart isn’t news. While his name may be profitable in some circles, giving this man a platform is a disservice to American democracy. [If you are a subscriber, communicate whether you’ll be boycotting or canceling your membership.] I will look for all my music and media needs from other outlets in the future. Name, State

•Demand all Trump-Russia findings be made public.

CALL:
Call: Senator Schumer: 585.263-5866/202.224.6542

SCRIPT:

Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [TOWN].

I’m calling to ask that REP/SEN NAME support the creation of an independent commission on the Trump-Russia matters. Neither special counselor Mueller nor the congressional committee investigations are leading to public, unclassified answers about any possible wrongdoings that may have occurred, and the American people deserve to know what really happened.

Thank you for your time and attention.
